So you want to talk about boudoir? It's sexy, it's fun, it's vulnerable. Wrap that up and it can be a game changer in terms of confidence boosts and self-love. That's right. Now I don't doubt there are a few guys here because I peaked your curiosity. However I'm going to take a minute and just talk to the ladies. Because after all, this is really about you and for YOU.
You may be reading this just because you appreciate art with a side of booty. Cheers to that. You may be interested in booking a session or still debating if it's right for you. You might have nerves, don't have someone to do it for, just need to lose those 10 lbs, past your prime... The truth is it's all lies. You can be a boss, intelligent, grounded, moral, mature AND you can be SEXY. You don't have to do it for anyone else but yourself. In fact you should foremost do it for yourself. Consider it a friendly reminder that you are a boss babe.
So on that note, if you have ever been curious about my boudoir events - what happens and if it's right for you - I'm going to spill some secrets.
I decided to get into boudoir last year. The idea came to me because I've actually thought about doing it myself for years. It was something I've always thought looked empowering. It's vulnerable, but it's also artistic, and damn, if someone could make me look that good then all the power to them. So I began crafting my ideas. I started shooting friends, then opened up my first event in downtown Seattle in November. This sounds obvious, but I wanted to make sure it was amazing. I wanted each girl to feel comfortable, to leave her insecurities at the door. I wanted to bring out her confidence and I wanted to make some DAMN. GOOD. ART.
Holy hell we did.
We set out the bubbles and turned on the music. As each girl came in they sat down to get their hair and make up done. We chatted through their outfits, I gave my tricks on how to nail the smolder (girls you know what I'm talking about) and we played. I was blown away with the vibe in the room and the high I felt as the day wrapped up. I knew it was going to be fun, but I did not fully prepare for the emotional change each girl experienced from the moment she walked in the door to the moment she whipped her hair around and cat-walked out the door. It was like we lit a fire in those girls and, even if just for an hour, made them feel sexier than they've felt in a long time. I can not tell you how many times girls have said, "I wish I had somewhere to go now that I'm all dolled up!" And the girls that do have plans are STOKED. *Words of wisdom* - plan a HH to run to when you're done. You will thank me.
Multiple events later it's always the same vibe. I've met so many wonderful girls and many have become friends! During the last event held in May my hair stylists looked over at me and said, "Wouldn't it be fun to get all the girls we've shot together for a HH and catch up?" And it hit me. These shoots not only introduce me to amazing people, but all of us have bonded with these ladies.
When I say us I mean my beauty dream team. I couldn't pull these events off alone at the level we have. I have to give a shout out to my partners that pounced on the opportunity to help me from day one. Ashlea Tegman from Kos Collective has come to every event and brilliantly made each hunny's hair look bomb and Meaghan Maurer from Arbonne has made those faces look flawless. I don't know why God blessed me with two amazing talented women, but we have had such a good time at these events and I couldn't have done it without them.
If you have ever thought about doing a boudoir shoot my next event is October 20th. Space is limited so if you are interested send me a note to be the first one notified when sign ups are open.
And if you're still wondering where the booties are... Here you go.
